Aloha Friday

Welcome to another Aloha Friday where we have the pleasure of joining Kailani over at An Island Life. In Hawaii they like to take things easy on Fridays and I rather like the idea myself. So I’ll do as Kailani suggests and just ask one simple question that doesn’t require a lengthy response. Feel Free to join us at An Island Life.

My question for you today is: How much in food do you keep on hand in your home? A weeks worth, a month, a day, etc..?

Not really sure. We used to have a lot more in bulk around, but a bug scare has us storing little now. Everything in cardboard boxes are in rubbermaid containers since they can come in with little critters (like we got). In the winter we always stock up on essentials as we hear about storms coming.

Um.. I dont even know.. We dont eat much at home since we are usually out and about somewhere.. So I just usually buy when I need it. Otherwise I have the normal things in the house.. Like milk, pop tarts..etc.

It's hard to say. We have the non-perishable stockpiles- such as canned goods- and the items that get replaced weekly- fruit.

    Have a great Friday!

We have beef in our freezer (since hubbys family are beef farmers). I have some, but not alot of caned and boxed items. If it is on sale I buy more than one.

  10. JamericanSpice says:

    Maybe a month. I honestly don't know.

  11. Sue D says:

I'm not sure–it depends on the item. I have a garden and can/freeze during the summer and sometimes that food lasts til the next season. We also raise/butcher chickens and those are either canned or frozen and should last until the next year. Other food I stock up when it is on sale and should last several months.
