VA loan rates are now at record low levels for buying a home.  A rate probably not seen for 30-40 years!  One thing you won’t find in other loans is that the seller is allowed to pay all the closing costs when you buy using a VA loan.  That’s always nice.  Of course if it were us we would stick with a 15 year(3.25%) or 30 year(3.88%) fixed rate so there were no surprises along the way.  But that’s up to you.  Do your homework and work out a budget before hand too so you know what you can reasonable afford your payments to be.  Don’t try to get in a huge  house if you won’t be able to afford the payments.

For those military families looking to refinance, now is a great time with such low rates on
mortgage loans.  Even savings of 1% can mean you could save $100-$600 a month if you refinance.  That’s a big deal of savings and could help you pay off your mortgage all that sooner.  If you are paying 5% on your current mortgage I would definitely look into refinancing your home.  The process is a simple as filling out a short form to get you started and nothing can make you feel better than saving money on your home.

My parents just retired in Tempe, and so far they love it there. They have made some friends, and are settling in well. They bought a condo close to some of their old friends from Massachusetts, and they do things together all the time. They have introduced them to a lot of nice people.
